When thinking about Soul Retrieval, it's important to remember that we are not just physical beings having spiritual experiences...we are also SPIRITUAL beings having a physical experience. Our physical bodies provide the earthly vehicle for us to move around in and experience life through the gift of our many senses. Our spirits or souls on the other hand, are free to roam about and roam they do!
Many people struggle with current life situations, yet oftentimes the real struggle is something rooted in the past. I know of people who have gone through many years of psycho therapy, never quite transcending the goal of returning to "wholeness". It helps when pondering your own soul search, to think of it this way - psycho therapy only works on the part of you that is home. In other words, try as one might, you just cannot reconcile soul pieces if some are missing. It just does not work this way.
You may have noticed times when you were 'daydreaming' and got snapped back into reality...it took a few seconds to come back. At night when we dream, our soul/spirit is free to leave the body and often does so. Have you ever woken from a dream and felt it was so real? That's because it was! Our brain has a hard time reckoning this but that's the nature of the physical brain. These are just a few instances that you may be consciously aware of when your 'soul' leaves your body and then comes back.
Pieces of the soul may also leave the body in order to protect us from potentially damaging emotional and/or physical situations. In a traumatic situation, oftentimes the soul piece does not return on its own. Traditionally, this yet another instance when a shaman would be called upon to assist in retrieving/returning the lost soul piece(s) to the client.
There are many reasons for soul loss and truly the soul has our best interest at heart when this happens; it helps to think of this as a spiritually healthy measure of protection.
Unless you have grown up in an indigenous culture where these types of spiritual issues were immediately addressed, most likely you were not taught about soul loss though the language of it is pretty evident in every day life. How many times have you heard someone refer to how they 'lost a piece of themselves' when such and such happened, or they feel like 'a part of me died' or is missing either when they moved, changed jobs, relationships or lost a love one etc... This is the literal truth!
Other symptoms of soul loss might be depression, PTSD, forgotten memories or oftentimes simply just a feeling of incompleteness; feeling that something is missing. People often wish they could get that piece of themselves back - many do not know that this is very possible and can be a wonderful experience with the help of a shamanically trained practitioner.
If you were to come to me for a soul retrieval, my process is done in 3 sessions. After contacting me, we will set up a time for us to meet in person and talk about your story. Then I would do an energy healing session for you which helps establish our connection and creates a foundation for the shamanic journey work. Once this first session is completed, we will set up a time for you to come back for the soul retrieval ceremony. In the meantime, I shamanic journey for you to gather more information in regards to your lost soul piece(s). When all is said and done, I will type up all of my impressions and email them to you so that you don't have to try and remember all the details while the process is underway. There are many symbolic pieces of information in these journeys that are there just for you and it's helpful to remember this is a PROCESS and one that will continue to unfold for you over time. It's important to remember that there are no immediate "fixes" and I am not "healing" you in any way, shape or form. Rather, I am the one facilitating your own healing, as it is YOU that is doing the healing work by virtue of raising your hand and asking for change.
Though the retrieval session itself may take just a few hours, it's important to clear your day so you can arrive rested and ready to receive as well as embrace time afterwards for introspection and quiet reflection. One of the biggest distractions we face in the world today is just that - Distraction - we will never be able to see or hear the deeper meanings of the messages coming in if we are always plugged into the myriad of distracting devices we carry with us today. Think of this, we cannot even check time anymore without a distractable device right on our wrists!
You are welcome to bring someone with you to share in this sacred event; a trusted friend or family member is also helpful to drive you home as oftentimes with any spiritual healing, you may feel a little "spacey" after the retrieval. Or, it may be something you wish to do on your own. Either way, trusting your intuition here is key - only you know what you truly need and either way. I will make certain you are grounded enough to drive before you leave.
What should you expect during the actual soul retrieval session?
You should eat only lightly prior to the session and of course, no alcohol and/or drug influences. You will lie on the floor, comfortably on your back, while I prepare the space. There may be music, a guided meditation, rattling and/or drumming. When it is time, I will lie down next to you, touching shoulders, hips and feet. The drumming continues once we are connected in physical space and I will then journey again into non-ordinary reality to retrieve the lost soul parts. Once retrieved, I will sit you up, kneeling next to you while I blow the soul parts into your heart chakra and your crown chakra. I will then rattle and offer Reiki as a way of sealing in the newly retrieved soul essence to your body. The experience(s) are then shared.
Peoples reactions are as varied as people themselves. Some people feel great joy, some overwhelming sadness, some feel nothing at all. Having a missing soul part returned is a powerful experience and one that will continue to unfold over the next several days, weeks... It's important to welcome these soul parts back and this can mean being open to new/old feelings (re)-surfacing. It's possible that a soul part which left in a traumatic way may bring an inkling of the memory back with it. It helps to allow, accept and acknowledge these feelings so they can be consciously released and you can return to wholeness. Dwelling on past traumas and/or stuffing these feelings back down inside only hampers self growth - so allow for this new aspect of yourself to engage and fully integrate into your souls healing. Remember that the reason they left in the first place is no longer an issue when the soul piece returns and our spiritual body is returned to the complete state prior to the incident.
My training as a shamanic practitioner comes naturally to me through my own divine DNA and wisdom incurred by many lifetimes of this time honored practice. In the physical realm, my training has also been enhanced by extensive indigenous studies with Jim PathFinder Ewing, Cherokee Medicine Man and Shaman. His teachings and practice include study with Sandra Ingerman, also well known and respected in the field of Shamanism and Soul Retrieval.
I have also taken workshops with Michael Harner and the Foundation of Shamanic Studies on The Way of the Shaman as well as Shamanism, Dying and Beyond.
I write about my own soul retrieval experience in my first book "Divine Arrows; Weaving the Path of Spiritual Guidance" (available by clicking the "Store" link to the left or on Amazon)
The effects from a soul retrieval can often be surprising. Ones senses may be heightened, colors may seem more vibrant or they may feel lighter in their bodies. It is a pretty significant, unique and beautiful experience. The time is nigh for healing and if a Soul Retrieval is in your future, please do not hesitate to call on me for more information. I look forward to the opportunity of Welcoming you Home!
