People are not the only ones who can be in tune with the etheric vibrations of energy that exist within and all around us as animals also share this amazing perception. Have you ever been sitting in your living room watching tv and notice your cat is busy watching something else; only what she is watching is not really there! At least in physical form, but more than likely it is happening in spirit space.
Likewise, people are not the only ones who can be "attuned" to Reiki by a qualified Reiki Master Teacher - animals as well people can be attuned!
Cats are natural born healers and my cat Taz is a pretty good example of how attuning animals can be beneficial; not only for the animal's health and well being but for the pet owners as well.
Taz has been attuned to Second Degree Reiki for about 9 months now. Even my husband notices how (just like most Reiki practitioners) the pads of her paws feel really, really hot when she jumps up on the couch to sit next to you and places her paws on your arm or hand. Sometimes she will place both paws on your arm or hand as she sits next to you, quietly sending her loving energy healing your way. Many times, she has placed those paws in the exact spot where there may be an ache, pain or wound!
Last trip to the vet, they told me she was in need of a dental cleaning. This is surely something that had never occurred to me in the 14 years that we've been blessed with her presence, brushing my cats teeth? Although, I had begun to notice that her breath was not smelling so nice lately...a sign that she truly needed a cleaning. I had been putting it off, not wanting to have to subject her to anesthesia because they have to knock her out in order to get in there and clean her teeth. Until one day last week when she climbed up onto my lap, up onto my chest and placed both of her paws on my jawline...as if to say 'hey, do something! my teeth hurt!!!'
This happened a few times, so I accepted her message and was beginning to understand that we really needed to get her teeth cleaned before the infection spread into her system and made her really sick. Besides, she couldn't have told me any clearer that something was going on!! The vet gave us a script for antibiotics and suggested to get that going for a week before coming in for the cleaning. so, today was the day she was supposed to have her teeth cleaned; an ordinary, bright and sunny Tuesday in March.
Mind you, I am going away this Sunday for a week and planned to have this cleaning done well before hand so that I could give her lots of Reiki afterwards, helping her to rebound from the anesthesia effect so she would be back to her normal self before leaving her for my trip.
Last night after 9pm, she couldn't have any food, so I gave her lots of Reiki instead and then again this morning before we left for the vet. I dropped her off at 7:30am as they suggested and as I drove away out of their parking lot, something told me to pull over and send Reiki once more, only this time to the 'situation' surrounding Taz. I do this sometimes to expand the energy healing effect, knowing that it would also shine some healing light in and around the office rooms and vet employees as well.
I drove off to my job which I am temping for this week (working in a fabric store helping to re-org their floor plan). Around 9:30am, I was working by myself in an aisle stocking picture frames on a wall shelf. All of a sudden, I could distinctly smell burnt machinery or something like that. I didn't even look around the aisle as I had the immediate sense that they must be starting to work on Taz and I felt like the smell was the machine they were using. I half chuckled to myself thinking how I don't enjoy the smell of dental equipment either so I imagined my kitty bathed in light as I sent the thought to her that she would be done soon now that they've started and home again before she knew it.
I had my cell phone in my pocket as they told me they would call as soon as she was finished to let me know how well she did but that she would have to spend the afternoon there so they could keep an eye on her until the anesthesia wore off. Though it hadn't beeped, I still kept checking my pocket, to make sure I didn't miss any calls. Well, it seems I had. The voice message at 9:45 was that Taz was fine, actually they hadn't even begun as they had technical difficulties with the equipment and had to cancel the cleaning - would I mind coming to get her?
I left work and drove over there to pick her up, which was only about 5 minutes away. The tech came out with Taz in her carrier saying she was sorry but the machine broke. I told her that I felt I had a sense of when they started because all of a sudden I smelled something like burnt machinery, for no apparent reason. She said that's exactly what it smelled like and went on to say that when they plugged the machine in, it sparked into a big poof of smoke which smelled exactly as I had described because the machine had literally burnt out!
We were both wowed, the tech and I, and spoke a little more about Reiki for a minute. She said I obviously was very in tune with my cat. I told her though I was stocking shelves at work, I was also 'holding space' for Taz to help her through the procedure. Since I believe time and distance are truly illusions and know that energy is discernable, it didn't surprise me at all that I picked up on it. She was amazed but believed it too as she had heard about Reiki and it's wonder full benefits. As for me, even though Reiki has become a way of life, I am ALWAYS amazed when these things happen just the same!
I had to laugh, thinking Taz got her way and got to come home and I got the afternoon off work to prepare for my trip and who knows, maybe by sending Reiki to the situation allowed the machine to benefit as well, going POOF! before they even started instead of halfway through the procedure, which would've been a much worse scenario for all of us.
Reiki is an every day sharing with Taz and I; she gives as much as she receives...we are very connected this way as any Reiki Master Teacher is with their students. She is still on antibiotics so I know we have no worries in putting off this appointment until I come back from my trip. The vet tech told me it may take that long to order a new one anyway!
Taz was very grateful to get home and finally have a bite to eat and has now gone off to sleep her sunny cat nap in her favorite spot...as for me, after offering gratitude once again for the divine energy that Reiki is and the highest good of this situation, I think I shall pack.
Aho~!
